space sprung from violence, and is political and institutional. I n the process, Lefebvre fi lls in the glaring hole of Marx's project b y supplying a dialectical material analysis of urban space. In so doing he converts Marx's "land" to "space. • Furthennore, he considers space to have an exchange value. Thus, space becomes a force of production. I t usurps the role originally played by nature. The book concludes with two calls to action. One is political. A call to grassroots arms is the only possibility of altering the hegemony of the cen tralized state. The second is a call for increased awareness, the root of all action. "[A)uthentic knowledge of space must address the question of its production" (p. 388). It is for this reason that this work deserves a central

Finding the Optimal Place of Sensors for a 3-D Damped Wave Equation by using Measure Approach

In this paper‎, ‎we model and solve the problem of optimal shaping and placing to put sensors for a 3-D wave equation with constant damping in a bounded open connected subset‎ ‎of 3-dimensional space‎. ‎The place of sensor is modeled by a subdomain‎ ‎of this region of a given measure‎. ‎By using an approach based on the embedding process‎, ‎first‎, ‎the system is formulated in variational form;...

Make Haste, Not Waste: Automated System Testing

Haste (High-level Automated System Test Environment) represents an approach to system testing that is philosophically consistent with standard XP unit testing practices. Test code runs in the same address space as the application under test, allowing for ready examination of application state. The fundamental Haste abstractions of Story, Step, and StoryBook provide a framework to implement syst...

Christian Norberg-Schulz and the Existential Space

The historian-theoretician Christian Norberg-Schulz, examining the development of his ideas across 30 years. While Norberg-Schulz started out with Intentions in Architecture (1963), a work that was clearly influenced by structuralist studies, he soon shifted to a phenomenological approach with Existence, Space and Architecture (1971), and then with Genius Loci (1980) and The Concept of Dwelling...

Bell-states diagonal relativistic multispinor entanglement witnesses in arbitrary dimensions

Two kinds of Bell-states diagonal relativistic multispinor entanglement witnesses (EW) are constructed by using the Euclidean representation of the algebra of Dirac γ matrices in the space-time of arbitrary dimension d, where the first kind can detect some Bell-states diagonal m-partite multispinor bound entangled states in Hilbert space of dimension 2m⌊d/2⌋, including the bipartite relativisti...

Bell-states diagonal entanglement witnesses for relativistic and non-relativistic multispinor systems in arbitrary dimensions

Two kinds of Bell-states diagonal (BSD) entanglement witnesses (EW) are constructed by using the algebra of Dirac γ matrices in the space-time of arbitrary dimension d, where the first kind can detect some BSD relativistic and non-relativistic m-partite multispinor bound entangled states in Hilbert space of dimension 2m⌊d/2⌋, including the bipartite Bell-type and iso-concurrence type states in ...
